These videos are large honkin (10 meg +) files. If your'e on a dialup line, turn back before it's too late. Here there be dragons. If you are operating in the 21st century and have a high speed line, please right click on the link and "save as" a local file on your sytem. About the videos. Pre 2007 videos pretty much are derived from the custom built Dancam (c) consisting of a VHS recorder in the trunk, and a lightweight security camera. This solved the earlier vibration/wind noise problems of using a camcorder. But transferring tape to digital was a hassle, and the camera quality wasn't real high. In 2007 I went to a Chasecam. Way more expensive, but it records directly to digital, is incredibly small and the camera quailty is first rate. I recommend them highly. |
